11th Annual Colorado Relay
The Colorado Relay Classic is a 24-hour+ 170-mile team relay race, and is Colorado's Premier Team Relay designed for athletes of all abilities. The 2008 Colorado Relay Classic will be held on September 12-13, 2008, going from Georgetown to Carbondale, Colorado. Runners leave from Georgetown between 6am and 12noon.
The Colorado Relay Century, a 100-mile+ team relay will be held on September 12-13, 2008 and goes from Frisco to Carbondale, Colorado. Runners leave from Frisco between 6pm and 9pm, finishing the next day in Carbondale. This is a great introduction to Relay Racing and entrants get preferred registration into the 2009 Colorado Relay Classic. MORE about the Colorado Relay Century.
Both courses take athletes of all abilities, across mountain passes in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Most teams have 10 runners each of whom run two (Century) segments or three (Classic) segments of the race, with a leg averaging about 6 miles miles. Some teams have from 6-12 runners, running in any order desired - the "Non-Conformists" division. More about the Colorado Relay.
